1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, accessing mux, or using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you use mux for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.
2. The service
mux provides hosted tools for connecting repositories, building a code index from them, and searching that index from the web, from a signed-in device, and from agents you authorize. We may improve, update, or change features over time. We will use reasonable care to avoid materially reducing paid functionality without notice, but we do not promise that every feature will always be available or error-free.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information, keep your credentials and agent keys secure, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account and for ensuring that anyone you authorize follows these terms. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use mux to:
- violate applicable law or the rights of another person;
- upload malware, disrupt the service, or attempt unauthorized access;
- probe or bypass security, usage limits, or access controls;
- send spam, facilitate abuse, or create a material risk to others; or
- use content you do not have the right to store, process, or share.
We may investigate suspected misuse and take proportionate steps to protect the service.
5. Content ownership
You keep ownership of the code you connect. You grant mux a limited, non-exclusive license to fetch, copy, process, transmit, and display that code only as needed to build and serve your index and to support the service. You are responsible for having the rights needed to index the repositories you select.
mux and its licensors retain ownership of the service, software, branding, and related materials. Feedback may be used to improve mux without obligation to you.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans renew for the billing period shown at checkout unless canceled before renewal. Payments, applicable taxes, invoices, and eligible refunds are handled by our merchant-of-record payment partner under the terms presented at checkout. You authorize that partner to charge your selected payment method. Plan limits and prices may change, but changes to a paid subscription will be communicated before they take effect.
7. Termination
You may stop using mux or cancel a subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, non-payment, security risk, or unlawful use, and will give notice when reasonably possible. After termination, your right to use the service ends. Your code remains in GitHub; deleting a workspace removes the mirrors and index mux built from it, and retention is described in our Data policy.
8. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, mux is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. mux does not provide legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice, and generated or retrieved information should be independently reviewed before you rely on it.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, mux and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business interruption. Our total liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid for mux in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where applicable law does not permit them.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to mux, law, or our business practices. We will post the revised terms and update the date above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable advance notice. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
